#1 GWM Haval 6 – The more upmarket Chinese SUV

Great Wall Motors (GWM) has been in existence globally since 1976. The firm initially manufactured heavy commercial vehicles until 2008 when they launched their very first saloon car. From then onwards, GWM has exploited their expertise in production of pick-ups, hatchbacks and SUVs. Their most popular SUV, which is a best seller in China, is the Haval H5 that offers plenty of equipment, performance and interior comfort at an attractive price. The GMW Haval H5 reign is coming to an end. To take the H5’s place is the all-new GWM Haval H6.

This power train delivers a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 6.7 litres/100 km. A smaller downsized petrol power unit is also on offer. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit provides the performance of a larger, naturally aspirated engine, but without the accompanying fuel consumption penalty. Performance is matched with the 2.0 output figure, while torque is rated at 210 Nm. This engine is also mated with a six-speed manual transmission and delivers a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 8.5 litres/100 km.
